Transmission breather

The twin turbo models of Mitsubishi 3000GT/GTO/Dodge Stealth platform have either 5 or 6-speed Getrag transmission with a rubber or metal breather from the factory.

During heavy track use oil can leak out from the breather on top of the transmission. Just like with our transfer case breather we have developed a small billet aluminum breather.

This breather is meant to be used together with a short bit of silicon hose and a small reservoir in the engine bay (we usually recommend using a motorcycle brake fluid reservoir).

This setup allows the oil and air to separate before the air escapes from the system prevent any loss of oil.

The breathers come in two different versions (5-speed and 6-speed) so don't forget to mention which transmission you have when placing an order.

The below shows a stock 6-speed transmission breather (top left) along with a motorcycle brake fluid reservoir and piece of black silicone hose (note that these items are not included with the breather).

The photo below shows two reservoirs installed in our own car, one for the transfer case and one for the transmission. Installing them in this location requires the battery to relocated.
